We're toast

I'm afraid my friends that the slide is unstoppable now. When Ben Bernanke comes right out and admits it, well, I think it's pretty imminent. I hope you're as ready as you can be. Before I get a deluge of "God is in control" comments, let me say it right up front, I know. I know it and I believe it, but I also know that God is really big on sowing and reaping. About being diligent with what you've been entrusted with and I think we are going to reap the whirlwind. Read about it here and here.

  1. I agree. I'm working through a study of Isaiah right now and, well... things don't look so good for our modern culture. Like in Isaiah 5 when God says, "What more could I have done for you?" Ouch.

  2. Oh, God may hold us in the palm of His hand but that doesn't mean we aren't going to go through the storms. The Bernanke article is truly frightening, isn't it? But it's not like we haven't seen it coming. The government threw all that good money after bad but that never fixes the problem, it merely delays it.
At the age of 58, I've given up on government, I really have. It's like the people with the power have completely lost their minds. At this point, all we can do is keep our heads down and hope we can survive the storm. That, and pray and help each other.
Thanks for sharing the article. No press on it, that's interesting, too, yes?

  3. I hear ya. I'm getting nervous myself. I don't think we have enough food stores for short-term problems. I really need to get on it.

  4. Thanks all. I do believe that President Obama is a grotesque effigy of what a "President" should be, but the country has been going to hell on a poker for the past 75-100 years and at least part of that time was under Republican rule. This is such a widespread cancer, it's systemic really and I don't think we caught it in time. :-/ Even voting in straight Tea Party people isn't going to erase this, massive austerity measures aren't going to fix it, we are in for a long, hard road to recovery.

Mona, I agree with your thoughts about Government. And yes, interesting about what the press reports or not.

Zebu, thanks for the advice, but any job here is flooded with applicants. If 100 men in a day want a job that pays 8.50 what would be the turnout for a job that pays twice that? I think we'd move if any place was better but I don't think I know of such a place.

  5. I have been reading in Isaiah too. I would recommend we all read chapters 30 - 33 (Well the whole Bible actually) but 30 -33 really hit home. This just sounded like us today as well as Israel all those years ago.

I sincerely appreciate the time and effort that it takes to leave a comment. Thank you!
